You will never believe how straightening out one drawer could be so empowering! It will give you a greater sense of control. Clean out this drawer today and you’ll be ready to conquer the world tomorrow! Besides, opening a drawer of neatly arranged lingerie is one of life’s small pleasures.
Start by taking out all your lingerie and dumping them on the bed. This includes all your bras, panties, baby dolls, slips, peignoirs, hosiery, and so forth. Now separate these items into two piles - keepers and throw aways. No maybes. No hopefully it will come back into fashions. No giveaways (Goodwill will thank you). Get rid of: Things that you would not be caught dead wearing. Gray items that should be white. Anything ripped, ratty, faded, with holes, with spots, etc. Tell yourself as you dispose of these items that you deserve THE BEST.
Also throw away items that: You haven’t worn in over a year (there’s gotta be a reason). The seams are coming undone. The elastic is going or gone. The under wires are coming out - this happens when you throw them in the wash without using a lingerie bag. Don’t fit properly anymore. Didn’t fit properly to begin with. Are too small. Are too big. Are uncomfortable.
Now it’s time to decide how many items you do need. It really depends on whether you are an avid lingerie collector or not. If you aren’t, then just enough panties and bras to get you through one week without having to wash. You might want to throw in a slip or two and maybe a camisole top to go under a sheer blouse or a low cut shirt. Make sure you have a few pair of thigh highs to go under those business suits and a pair or two of pantyhose for those sexy dresses you own. Now on to the lingerie collector. For you, you’ll want more than enough bra sets with matching panties for one week. You should probably start out with a corset, then head right on into a gorgeous chemise, then you’ll want to think about getting a cami set, and if you’re really brave, a costume will liven up your collection.
Once you’ve whittled down your lingerie collection, figure out what works best for you in arranging it back in the drawer. Create a storage system that allows you to have easy access to everything. If it takes more than one drawer, remember, you are worth it! An easy way to organize is to use drawer dividers. Using something like this, you can separate your bras by colors or style. You can keep your panties separate or match them up with each bra. You decide what system you like. You’ll want to lay your fancier items flat in order to keep them nice and neat. Or, if you prefer, hang your delicate items.
Whichever way you decide on, make sure you can look into your lingerie drawer(s) and see everything. You want to look into your lingerie drawer and feel good about yourself. You want to think, THAT will make me look sexy. THAT is what I’m going to put on.
